Job summary

HCA Healthcare's LGP Montgomery Gen Surgery is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time daytime schedule (Mon-Fri). You will prepare patients for examination, take histories and vital signs, and assist with room setup, sterilization and injections.

You will support physicians during minor surgeries and lab work, answer practice calls, and screen referrals. Requires one year of Medical Assisting or direct clinical care; certification within 60 days if not already certified.

Qualifications

• One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Certification must be earned within 60 days of employment if not already certified.
• Candidates/incumbents with one year of Medical Assistant experience who do not possess certification must obtain it within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with instruments and maintain supplies; include sterilization.
• Give injections and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
• Assist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Answer practice calls and screen referrals.
