Job summary

Banner Health in Queen Creek, AZ seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in a high-volume, multi‑specialty clinic. You will assist with exams, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient care under provider supervision.

The role demands an accredited MA program, active MA certification, and BLS at hire. Shifts are scheduled as 4‑10s or 5‑8s with occasional Saturday coverage, in a busy clinic serving 500+ patients daily.

Qualifications

• MA diploma from an accredited program and Banner-approved MA training.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, NCCT or NHA) required.
• BLS certification required on hire.
• Strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal/communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaints.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; perform phlebotomy, ear irrigation and EKGs as needed.
• Coordinate patient care including pre-certifications, referrals and scheduling; communicate test results to patients.
• Provide clerical support for medical records, billing documentation and charting.
• Maintain clean, functional exam rooms and sterilize equipment per guidelines.
• Order supplies, stock care areas, manage medications and recalls as directed.
• Develop effective communication with internal and external customers and exemplify team service.
• Complete onboarding/orientation and simulation training as needed.
• Work under supervision of providers and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient care.
