Job Description
- JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
- Assists practitioners in performing procedures, managing telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results.
- DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
- The Primary Care teams at Samaritan Health Services provide comprehensive healthcare for all ages, from newborns to seniors, through pediatric, family medicine, and internal medicine providers. They promote preventive care, including annual exams, health screenings, and lifestyle counseling.
- EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant (RMA or CMA) required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
- Previous medical back office experience or completion of a MA/CMA program preferred.
- Experience in applicable specialty areas and lab/EKG experience preferred.
- KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Patient Care: Skills to assist and care for patients, recognize symptoms, drug interactions, treatments, and preventive measures within scope of practice.
- Adaptability/Flexibility: Respond quickly and appropriately to diverse patient situations.
- Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to explain complex issues, and conduct group presentations.
- Team Building: Ability to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical records, procedures, and terminology.
- Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding age-related care differences, and maintaining sensitivity and non-judgmental attitude.
