- CMA with Scribe duties, Family Medicine - Full Time
- CMA Family Medicine - Part-time
Compensation: $18.40 - $24.00 per hour (based on years of experience)
Summary: The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards. The CMA assists practitioners in performing procedures, managing telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in and maintain a culture aligned with The Corvallis Clinic's Service and Behavioral Standards.
- Manage patient flow and prepare patients for exams.
- Gather chief complaints, patient history, vital signs, and other pertinent information, ensuring accurate documentation in the EHR.
- Retrieve and communicate laboratory and radiology test results; instruct patients on medications and treatment as per practitioner’s instructions.
- Handle patient phone calls promptly and accurately, with proper documentation.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures following national standards.
- Enhance quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation, participating in in-services and department meetings.
- Monitor provider schedules for accuracy.
- Perform injections under direct supervision, as needed.
- Participate in cleaning and stocking shared work areas and exam rooms.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certificate from an accredited medical assistant program (AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT).
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective communication skills for explaining complex issues to patients and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively with providers, staff, and patients.
- Multitasking in a busy environment while maintaining quality.
- Remain calm and effective during emergencies.
- Understanding of age-related differences in patient care and communication.
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships.
