Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in the Medical Group to provide clinical support under supervision and assist with administrative duties. The role requires rooming patients, collecting health data, and documenting charges within the visit workflow.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year clinic experience preferred, CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or completion of a MA program with certification within 6 months, and BLS. Travel between sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or completion of an approved medical assistant program; certification within 6 months of hire.
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• Ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support under supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Assist with administrative tasks and general clinic support.
• Perform rooming, clinical intake, and health data collection.
• Document and capture charges for clinical services rendered during visits.
• Follow UVA Health policies and competency testing.
