Job summary

UVA Health Community Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and ensure quality patient care under direct supervision. The role requires CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or completion of an approved MA program, with certification within 6 months, and BLS certification.

The position involves interacting with patients of all ages, performing intake and rooming, and supporting the care team in a fast-paced clinical setting at UVA's Bristow

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Current CMA, CCMA, or RMA credentials or completion of an approved MA program; certification within 6 months of hire.
• AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Records and relays patient information to the provider for triage and care planning.
• Performs standardized rooming, clinical intake, health data collection, and documentation.
• Provides clinical support under supervision and documents charges for services rendered.
• Performs administrative support as directed by a Clinic Leader.
• Organizes daily work to support patient needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Reinforces patient teaching using approved materials and age-appropriate instructions.
