Job summary

UVA Community Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support and administrative assistance within a busy medical group. The role supports patients under licenced practitioners, with a focus on accurate health data collection and documentation.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials (or completion of an approved MA program) and BLS. On-site work and travel between campus facilities may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a clinic setting preferred.
• Must have CMA/CCMA/RMA credentials or complete an approved medical assistant program and obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support under supervision of a licensed practitioner.
• Assist with administrative tasks and general support per UVA Health policies.
• Perform clinical rooming, health data collection, documentation, and charge capture as part of patient visits.
• Coordinate with the care team to ensure efficient patient flow and safety.
