Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care, perform routine procedures, and assist physicians and nurses in daily examinations and treatments.

This role supports more than 1,800 healthcare professionals across over 100 outpatient centers, with a culture rooted in inclusion and growth, and a robust benefits package including tuition reimbursement for certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a Medical Assistant program diploma or 1 year medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic or EMT-P training acceptable.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
• Preference: Medical Assistant Certification.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist as ordered.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum and perform routine lab tests.
