Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through WellMed Windcrest, is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support patient care under physician supervision. The role involves performing clinical tasks, drawing blood, collecting specimens, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining accurate records.

The CMA ensures infection control, patient confidentiality, and coordinated care within the team. Candidates should have a high school diploma, CMA certification or eligibility, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Current CMA certification or eligible to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• Current BLS certification at time of hire or within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with Excel.
• Proven ability to react calmly in emergencies.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Tuberculosis screening and immunity documentation required.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties within the Medical Assistant scope; operates diagnostic equipment, collects blood, cultures, wound care, and prepares specimens.
• Rooms patients and prepares for examination.
• Records patient care documentation accurately and timely.
• Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians and standards.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Prepares and sterilizes equipment; follows infection control procedures.
• Performs intake screening without clinical judgment; follows Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
