Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, current MA certification (or within 180 days), current BLS, medical terminology knowledge, and basic computer skills. Preferred: 1+ year experience and ICD-10/CPT knowledge.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain certification within 180 days of employment.
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare providers at time of hire or within 30 days.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Proven ability to react calmly in emergencies.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • TB testing and immunity documentation required.

Responsibilities

  • Performs duties within Medical Assistant scope under provider supervision.
  • Assists physicians and nursing staff and supports clinical procedures.
  • Maintains infection control, privacy, and confidentiality standards.
  • Records patient care data accurately in the medical record.
  • Coordinates patient care per physicians and policy.
  • Ensures proper room setup, supplies, and instrument sterilization.
  • Delivers quality customer service and follows delegation of orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
