Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Waynesburg, PA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians, register patients, and maintain accurate medical records in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role requires a High School Diploma (MA program preferred), BLS certification, and CPOE certification within two weeks of starting. Minimum $17/hour with monthly incentive pay and a sign-on bonus up to $2,000 are offered.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
• Schedule appointments and process co-pays
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
• Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Assist providers with patient care and procedures
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
• Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
• Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
• Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
• All other duties as assigned.

Certification / Equivalent Experience

Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:

• CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
• CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
• RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
• NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
• NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)

In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:

• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
• 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
• EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
• Paramedic
• CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant
• Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire***

CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.
