Job summary

HealthPoint in Auburn, WA is offering a Medical Assistance Apprentice position with an hourly rate of $22.50. The program includes paid on-the-job training, structured learning, and a two-year service commitment with HealthPoint.

The apprenticeship requires enrollment in the WACHC MA Training Program, CPR/BLS certification within 3 months, and completion of 2,000 paid hours plus 410 hours of coursework. Applications are due by September 21, 2026.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent. Enrollment in the WACHC Registered Medical Assistant Training Program Required.
• CPR/BLS certification that must be obtained within 3 months of the apprenticeship start date. Practicing as a medical assistant includes many duties identified in RCW 18.360.050.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, laboratory area and lavatory with supplies before the start of the day, at the end of the day and as needed throughout the day.
• Room and prepare patients for exams including chief complaint and vital signs and request reports needed for patient care.
• Provide assistance with patient exams and medical procedures.
• Perform laboratory procedures including, but not limited to, anterior nasal swabbing, nasopharyngeal swabbing, hemoglobin, rapid strip, urine chem strips, blood glucose and pregnancy tests.
• Respond to calls from patients.
• Order medication and medical supplies for the clinic.
• Ensure lab specimens are properly labeled, recorded, and sent to outside laboratory.
