Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth is seeking a Clinical Assistant in Training to join the ambulatory care team. Under the guidance of a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse preceptor, you will assist RNs, physicians and other providers with direct patient care at the entry level.

As an apprentice, you will perform identified procedures once competencies are demonstrated and care for patients from newborn to elderly.

Qualifications

• BCLS certified or able to obtain within 3 months.
• Enrolled in the Clinic Assistant Training Apprenticeship Program advancing through learning modules for 14 weeks; CCMA certification required within 6 months of completing the program.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care in ambulatory settings.
• Perform identified procedures independently once competencies are demonstrated.
• Cares for patients ranging from newborn to elderly per age-related guidelines.
