Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN is seeking a Medical Assistant Apprentice, Medical Assistant, or a Licensed Practical Nurse to join the OBGYN Clinic. The role supports RNs and providers in ambulatory care, with a Monday–Friday schedule, no holidays or weekends.

Apprentice track offers 14-week learning modules, with CCMA certification required within 6 months after program completion, or enrollment in Med Certs training. BCLS certification expected within 3 months. 0.8 FTE with day rotation.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program with on-the-job hours and competency demonstration.
• Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Licensure or certification as Medical Assistant or LPN with required timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN, physician and providers with direct patient care in ambulatory setting.
• Perform identified procedures once competencies are demonstrated.
• Care for patients from newborn to elderly as per age-related guidelines.
