Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking an entry-level Clinical Assistant in Training to support ambulatory care teams. As an apprentice, you will assist RNs, physicians, and other providers with direct patient care, progressing to perform identified procedures independently once competencies are demonstrated.

You will care for patients from newborn to elderly, under supervision, in a 0.8 FTE position with day shifts on site at the Duluth Clinic location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BCLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Enrolled in in-clinic assistant training/apprenticeship; CCMA or NHA board certification within 6 months after program completion.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN, physician and other providers with direct patient care in ambulatory setting.
• Perform identified procedures independently after demonstrated competencies.
• Care for patients ranging from newborn to elderly as per age-related categories.
