Job summary

The University of Utah Health Centerville Health Center is offering a Medical Assistant trainee role designed to provide assistive care to patients while completing clinical training hours. You will learn to support licensed staff and assist with basic healthcare delivery and clerical tasks under supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations, performing CLIA-waived tests, assisting with phlebotomy and injections, and maintaining clean exam rooms.

Qualifications

• Concurrent enrollment in a Medical Assisting program associated with a USHE school.
• Completion of a signed MA Apprenticeship Repayment Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and tests.
• Assist with routine clerical tasks and medical records.
• Perform CLIA waived lab tests and report results.
• Assist with phlebotomy and injections under supervision.
• Maintain and stock exam rooms and equipment.
• Provide patient education and assist with transportation as needed.
• Work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
