Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis seeks a Medical Assistant to support ambulatory care providers with patient visits, labs, referrals, and documentation. You will help maintain efficient patient flow and ensure quality outcomes for the practice population.

Applicants should complete a recognized MA program or have HS diploma with MA experience; certification within 6 months is required. EPIC EMR proficiency is expected, along with strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider at ambulatory health care site with patient visits and procedures
• Support routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes
• Collaborate with team to ensure efficient patient flow and care delivery
• Document care accurately in the EPIC EMR system
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment
