Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers at an ambulatory health care site. You will facilitate patient visits, perform routine laboratory tasks, handle referrals and contribute to quality outcomes for the practice population.

You will join a collaborative team, help prepare exam rooms, collect vital signs, and document care in EPIC EMR. Certification within 6 months is required; prior MA experience in a physician practice is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies.
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload.
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection.
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system.
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols.
• Process referrals and medication refills.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff.
