Job summary

Community Health Network in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a busy ambulatory health care site. You will assist providers with patient visits, perform routine labs, and help with referrals and quality outcomes.

You will prepare exam rooms, document care in EPIC EMR, collect vital signs and specimens, and maintain positive relationships with patients and staff to ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
• Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
• Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Responsibilities

• Assist the provider of an ambulatory health care site with facilitation of patient visit and procedures
• Perform routine laboratory tests and referrals
• Contribute to quality outcomes for the practice population
• Document care accurately in the EPIC EMR system
• Maintain orderly exam rooms and prepare supplies as needed
