Job summary

Access Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support a collaborative care team and deliver quality health services to patients in the Chicago area.

You will assist providers with onsite procedures, take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer vaccines, respond to patient questions, schedule appointments, and review medical records while gaining extensive Epic EMR training.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• Basic proficiency with EMR systems, Epic preferred.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays
