Job summary

Access Community Health Network (ACCESS) in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support a collaborative care team delivering high-quality community health services.

You will take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, assist with procedures, manage patient questions, and help with scheduling and record review, with Epic EMR training provided.

Evening and Saturday shifts may be required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus, and a Medical Assistant diploma with CPR/BLS is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Minimum of one year experience or clinical externship.
• Basic proficiency with EMR (Epic preferred).
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients' needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.
