Job summary

ACCESS Community Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant in Chicago, IL to support a collaborative care team. You will take vital signs, perform phlebotomy, assist with onsite procedures and vaccines, and help patients with scheduling and record reviews.

This role emphasizes patient-centered care, ongoing clinical training, and work within an Epic EMR environment in a community health setting.

Qualifications

• Clinical duties include taking vital signs, venipuncture and medication/vaccine administration.
• Onsite support to providers and care team with EMR documentation in Epic.
• Appointment scheduling and patient inquiries handled professionally.

Responsibilities

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team to provide health services and resources to meet patient needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures and clinical tasks.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines.
• Respond to patient questions, return calls, schedule appointments and review medical records.
• Grow knowledge through clinical and Epic EMR training.

Position Summary

• Work in collaboration with a skilled care team that includes dedicated providers, benefits specialists, front desk receptionists, behavioral health consultants and others to provide quality health services and resources to meet our patients’ needs.
• Assist providers with onsite procedures.
• Take vital signs, perform phlebotomy and administer medications/vaccines directly to patients.
• Assist patients by responding to questions, returning calls, scheduling appointments and reviewing medical records.
• Continue to grow your knowledge base through extensive clinical training and technical training with Epic, one of the leading Electronic Medical Record Systems globally.

Requirements

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant diploma from an accreditedprogram
• CPR/Basic Life Support Certification
• Minimum of one (1) year experience or clinical externship
• Basic proficiency withEMR (Epic preferred)
• Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays
