Job summary

US Heart & Vascular, managing HeartPlace Plano West in Plano, TX, seeks a Medical Assistant / Medical Front Office Specialist for a full-time role combining clinical and administrative duties.

The position covers vital signs, patient interviews, rooming, EKGs, injections, lab tasks, and front desk responsibilities, working within a team of clinicians to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required.
• Cardiac experience preferred.
• Medical front office experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temp, BP, weight, height) and records in charts.
• Room patients promptly with MA support for timely visits.
• Operates routine diagnostic equipment (EKG, treadmill) and uses procedures per physician orders.
• Assist with testing orders, prescriptions and patient education.
• Coordinate with hospitals for forms and communications.
• Assist with check-in/check-out processes and chart paperwork.

Position Summary

This position will be responsible for Medical Front and Back Office duties.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients' charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required
• Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Support check in and Check-out process
• Other related duties as assigned
