Job summary

HeartPlace in Plano, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, and record results in charting systems, while supporting rooming and diagnostic testing with the MA team.

You will operate EKG/treadmill equipment, handle testing orders, and communicate with hospitals as needed. Responsibilities include patient education, chart privacy, and coordinating with the physician and checkout processes.

Qualifications

• Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height) and records in charts.
• Room patients promptly with MA team support.
• Operates EKG, treadmill, and other equipment for routine diagnostic tests.
• Fill out testing orders per physician.
• Send out prescriptions as ordered.
• Explain testing to patients and set up procedures with hospitals when needed.
• Escort patients to checkout and manage voicemails and messages in eCW.
• Ensure charts are complete with proper paperwork and patient privacy is maintained.

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Plano, TXResponsibilities:• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test• Fill out testing orders per physician• Send out prescriptions per physician orders• Orders & explain testing to the patient• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back• Review procedure and instructions with the patient• Escort patients to check-out• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought• Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included• Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information• Other related duties as assignedRequirements:• Completion of a Medical Assistant program• Cardiac Experience preferred but not required• Knowledge in medical terminologyWhy Choose Us?Comprehensive benefits packageMonday-Friday scheduleCME allowanceAbout Dallas/Fort Worth, TX:Dallas/Fort Worth, known as the Metroplex, offers a vibrant urban life and peaceful suburban living, making it an enticing place to reside.
