Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our HeartPlace team in Plano, TX. The role supports patient intake, vital signs, rooming, and coordination of routine diagnostic testing under physician supervision.

You will work a day shift, Monday through Friday, with a comprehensive benefits package and CME allowance to support professional development. Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required; cardiac experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Cardiac experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge in medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in charts.
• Assist with rooming patients and coordinating diagnostic tests.
• Operate EKG, treadmill, and other equipment for routine tests.
• Prepare testing orders and send physician-approved prescriptions.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure privacy of health information.
• Travel to satellite clinics as needed and manage chart paperwork.

Job Location: HeartPlace - Plano 15th HCA - Plano, TX 75075, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Other Positions, US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Plano, TX

Responsibilities:

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• Return patient calls/tasks, even if only to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required· Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Other related duties as assigned
