US Heart and Vascular is hiring a Medical Assistant to join the HeartPlace team in Bedford, TX. This full-time, day-shift position involves vital sign collection, patient rooming, and performing routine diagnostic tests.

The role requires completion of a Medical Assistant program; cardiac experience is a plus. Candidates should have knowledge of medical terminology and strong communication skills. Comprehensive benefits and CME allowance are provided.

Qualificações

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required.
• Cardiac experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge in medical terminology.
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Responsabilidades

• Record vital signs in patients’ charts.
• Assist with rooming patients in a timely manner.
• Operate EKG, treadmill and other diagnostic equipment.
• Fill out testing orders per physician.
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders.
• Explain testing to the patient.
• Administer injections or treatments and perform routine laboratory tests.
• Coordinate hospital forms and fax them back.
• Review procedures with patients.
• Escort patients to checkout.
• Check voicemails and enter messages in eCW.
• Return patient calls and acknowledge receipt of voicemails.
• Ensure charts are complete with required paperwork.
• Travel required; prepare bags for travel to satellite clinics.
• Protect patient health information privacy.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Job Details: Job Location: HeartPlace - HEB - Bedford, TX 76022, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School Diploma/GED, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Other Positions, US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Bedford, TX.

Responsibilities:

• Records vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height in patients’ charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• Return patient calls/tasks, to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required. Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Other related duties as assigned
