Job summary

US Heart & Vascular at HeartPlace in Bedford, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team on a day shift. This full-time position supports clinical workflows in a fast-paced care setting.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, assisting with rooming, performing routine diagnostics (EKG, treadmill), processing tests and prescriptions, and maintaining patient privacy. A Medical Assistant program completion is required; cardiac experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Medical Assistant to join our team at HeartPlace located in Bedford, TX

Responsibilities

• Records vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height in patients’ charts.
• Work with the medical assistant tech to ensure patients are roomed in a timely manner
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test
• Fill out testing orders per physician
• Send out prescriptions per physician orders
• Orders & explain testing to the patient
• Gives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory tests
• Set up procedures with hospitals to include filling out hospital form and faxing them back
• Review procedure and instructions with the patient
• Escort patients to check-out
• Check voicemails & enter messages into eCW
• Return patient calls/tasks, to acknowledge receipt of the voicemail, and that an answer is being sought
• Ensure that charts have been checked, and the proper paperwork is included
• Travel required
• Prepare bag for travel to satellite clinics
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Other related duties as assigned
