Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire; must obtain certification if not already certified.
• Accepted Medical Assistant Certifications: NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare and room patients, obtain vital signs, document patient history and screening.
• Perform back office testing and assist with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with training and provide follow up with patients per provider instructions.
• Prepare exam rooms, maintain inventory and sterilize instruments.
• Document accurately in the EHR and handle clerical duties; may float between locations.
