Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, MD seeks a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our patient care team. You will room patients, take vitals, document in the EMR, and assist with office procedures while supporting a compassionate hospital environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of MA or EMT-Paramedic experience; CPR is preferred. A $1500 sign‑on bonus is available for select positions through December 31, 2026, with benefits eligibility based on FTE

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year experience as Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals.
• Enter patient information into the EMR.
• Set up and assist with office procedures.
• Chaperone providers during patient examination.
• Take pre‑op and post‑op photos when needed.
• Maintain and transport instruments to CSS and Pathology.
• Stock exam rooms and order clinical supplies.
• Process FMLA and disability forms.
• Clean and reset exam rooms.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre‑op and post‑op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic
