Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore is hiring a Medical Assistant. The role supports patient intake, vitals collection, EMR documentation, and assists with office and surgical procedures across satellite locations. A sign-on bonus is available for select positions through 2026. The department values compassionate care and teamwork in a trusted hospital setting.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience as Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
