Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is hiring a Medical Assistant to join our team in the Maryland/Baltimore area. The role supports patient flow, EMR documentation, and routine procedures while ensuring a safe, clean environment across multiple satellite locations. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available for select positions through December 31, 2026.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience preferred. Travel to satellite locations is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year experience preferred as Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vitals.
• Enter patient information into EMR.
• Set up and assist with office procedures.
• Chaperone providers during examinations.
• Take pre-op and post-op photos.
• Maintain surgical instruments and transport to CSS.
• Process surgical specimens and send to Pathology.
• Stock exam rooms and order supplies.
• Complete FMLA and Disability forms.
• Clean and reset exam rooms.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtaining vitals
• Entering patient information into electronic medical record (EMR)
• Setting up and assisting with office procedures
• Chaperone providers during patient examination
• Taking pre-op and post-op photos of patients
• Maintaining surgical instruments and transporting instruments to Central Sterile (CSS)
• Processing surgical specimens and transporting them to Pathology
• Maintaining and stocking exam rooms
• Ordering clinical supplies
• Completing FMLA and Disability forms
• Cleaning and resetting exam rooms
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• A minimum of one year experience is preferred as a Medical Assistant or EMT-Paramedic

Salary Information

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
