Job summary

Catholic Health Physician Practices in New York is seeking a Medical Assistant who combines clinical and administrative duties to support patient care. Qualifications

• Graduation from a NYS-accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (NHA, AMT, AAMA, NCCT).
• BCLS certification (in-person training) per American Heart Association.
• Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and aseptic technique.
• A team-first attitude and commitment to respectful, quality care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and meds/vaccines are ready.
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, etc.).
• Escort patients and manage flow to maximize efficiency.
• Take and record vitals, history, allergies, medications, concerns.
• Assist with procedures including EKGs, Holter monitors, in-office testing.
• Collect/process lab specimens and document results.
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials.
• Help at the front desk — greet patients, answer phones, verify insurance.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure the best patient outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare exam rooms: sanitize, stock supplies, and ensure medications/vaccines are ready for the day
• Review upcoming appointments and identify gaps in care (mammograms, colonoscopies, immunizations, etc.)
• Escort patients to rooms and manage patient flow to maximize efficiency
• Take and record vitals, patient history, allergies, medications, and current concerns
• Assist with procedures, including EKGs, Holter monitors, and in-office testing
• Collect and process lab specimens; track and document results
• Perform quality control on equipment and testing materials
• Help at the front desk when needed — greeting patients, answering phones, verifying insurance
• Collaborate with providers and the care team to ensure the best patient outcomes

What You Bring

Salary Range
