Job summary

Quality Talent Group is recruiting a Medical Assistant for a leading healthcare network in the Cincinnati region. The role supports physicians with exams, patient flow, and documentation in the EMR.

The position requires a Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent experience, a high school diploma, and BLS certification. You will handle patient check-in/out, pre-authorizations, specimen handling, and basic clinical tasks. Excellent benefits accompany this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient flow and document vital signs, medical history, and meds.
• Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts.
• Obtain diagnostic test results and records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process refills and pre-authorizations; communicate with patients and pharmacies.
• Maintain samples and meds, dispose of expired meds, order supplies.
• Prepare and maintain clean, stocked examination rooms.
• Obtain medical information to support decision-making per office protocols.
• Answer calls, MyChart messages, schedule appointments, check-in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management queues and related tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with standards.
• May assist training new staff or oversee work queues.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
