Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant for our client in Ohio. You will assist physicians with examinations, manage patient flow, document vital signs, and support care in an EMR environment.

Responsibilities include recording patient histories, handling pre-authorizations, processing prescriptions, and maintaining clean exam rooms. A Medical Assistant program graduate with BLS and strong communication skills is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or have prior Medical Assisting experience.
• BLS certification is required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient flow and document systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and outside records as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations with patients, pharmacies, and insurers.
• Maintain samples, medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean examination rooms.
• Gather medical information to support medical decisions per office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets and queues.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
• Operate EKGs and cardiac monitors for routine tests.
• Perform phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient-experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate work queues.
