Job summary

Quality Talent Group is staffing a Medical Assistant role in the Cincinnati area. This position supports physicians in exam and treatment, handles patient flow, records, and EMR data, and coordinates tests and referrals.

You will assist with phlebotomy, EKGs, and routine procedures while ensuring patient confidentiality and quality care. The role requires a Medical Assistant program graduate or equivalent experience, along with BLS certification and strong clinical and computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant program graduate or previous Medical Assisting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong computer, communication, and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
• Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vital signs, medical history, and medications.
• Accurately record patient information in the EMR and prepare charts by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing medical records.
• Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and other records from outside facilities as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations while communicating with patients, pharmacies, and insurance companies.
• Maintain patient samples and medications, dispose of expired medications, and order medical supplies as needed.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decision-making according to office protocols.
• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
• May assist with training new employees or coordinate/oversee work queues in the office.
