Responsibilities

• Assist with examination and treatment under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient flow and document vitals, medical history, and medications.
• Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts.
• Obtain diagnostic test results and hospital reports as needed.
• Process medication refills and pre-authorizations with patients and pharmacies.
• Maintain samples, medications, and medical supplies; dispose of expired meds.
• Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
• Obtain pertinent medical information to support medical decisions.
• Answer calls, MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in/out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management inboxes and work queues.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
• Operate EKGs and cardiac monitors for routine tests.
• Perform phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety and quality standards.
• May assist training new employees or coordinate work queues.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, and check patients in and out.
• Manage EMR/Practice Management in-baskets, workflow logs, work queues, and related office tasks.
• Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed.
• Operate EKGs, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to perform routine diagnostic tests.
• Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with safety, legal, quality, and patient experience standards.
