Job summary

Quality Talent Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a leading Cincinnati healthcare network. The role involves assisting physicians, managing patient flow, and documenting medical information in the EMR across varied duties.

The position requires a Medical Assistant program graduate or prior experience, and a current BLS certification. Candidates should have strong computer, communication, and clinical skills and be able to work in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with examination and treatment of patients under physician direction.
  • Maintain patient flow and document review of systems, vitals, history, and meds.
  • Record patient information in EMR and prepare charts by scanning and reviewing records.
  • Obtain diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and outside records as needed.
  • Process medication refills and pre-authorizations; communicate with patients and pharmacies.
  • Maintain specimens, medications, dispose of expired items, and order supplies.
  • Prepare and maintain clean, fully supplied examination rooms.
  • Gather pertinent medical information to support decisions per office protocol.
  • Answer calls, respond to MyChart messages, schedule appointments, check in/out.
  • Manage EMR/Practice Management inboxes, logs, and work queues.
  • Complete pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Operate EKGs and cardiac monitors for routine tests.
  • Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with safety, quality, and patient experience standards.
  • May assist with training new staff or coordinate work queues.
