Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Medical Assistant for a dermatology setting in NY. You will assist physicians in medical and cosmetic procedures, manage patient flow, document treatments, and maintain EMR records.

Qualifications

• Dermatology experience preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Nationally Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
• Computer savvy; familiar with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Excellent patient relations and customer service skills.
• Open availability to work weekdays and weekends within 7:00am–7:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance quality of service and care offered to patients and providers.
• Assist physicians in medical, cosmetic, and laser procedures.
• Record prescribed treatments, medications, biopsies, cultures, photos, prescriptions, prior authorizations, and procedures within established guidelines.
• Understand patient flow and anticipate provider next steps.
• Prepare rooms before and after patients.
• Check equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper working order.
• Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions.
• Scan retail and cosmetic products and medical supplies daily.
• Alert Head MA and/or GM of low-level supplies.
• Perform inventory responsibilities and stock supplies and equipment as requested.
• Attend in-house training and continued education opportunities.
