Job summary

New York Health (NYH) is seeking a Medical Assistant in Bayshore, NY. The role involves managing patient intakes, collecting lab specimens, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations.

You will sterilize equipment, support data entry, and assist physicians during visits, including EKGs and point-of-care testing. Requirements include a Medical Assistant certificate and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Must have Medical Assistant Certificate and High School Diploma.
• EMR experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to wear PPE when handling bloodborne pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient intakes and recording of accurate information.
• Collect and process lab specimens including venipuncture and tests.
• Record patients' vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examinations.
• Sterilize medical equipment and instruments.
• Assist providers and staff with data entry.
• Assist physicians during visits with examinations and procedures.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Other duties as assigned.
