Job summary

Puyana Plastic Surgery PLLC is seeking a bilingual Medical Assistant (Spanish/English) to support the surgeon through the full surgical journey, from pre-operative visits to post-operative follow-ups.

Ideal candidates will have Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience, strong medical terminology, and experience with EMR systems. The role involves patient preparation, vitals, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration in a luxury aesthetic setting.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Spanish and English (required).
• Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR systems and medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during pre-operative consultations, post-operative follow-ups, and in-office procedures.
• Perform real-time medical scribing and maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures; obtain vitals and update medical histories.
• Coordinate pre-operative labs and testing.
• Ensure completion of all pre-op documentation, consents, and clearances.
• Provide post-operative instructions and recovery documentation.
• Reinforce wound care, medications, activity restrictions, and follow-up schedules.
• Participate as an active member of a collaborative, patient-focused team.
• Follow up with patients to answer questions, provide guidance, and support continuity of care.
• Perform pre consultation assessments for virtual consults.
• Cross-train in additional clinic responsibilities as needed to support daily operations.
• Assist with social media support and content creation for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, including patient education.

This role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who values patient-centered care, thrives in a collaborative environment, and enjoys being involved in the full surgical journey: from pre-operative visits to post-operative follow-ups.

Spanish fluency is required.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Preferred

• Certified Medical Assistant
• Experience in plastic surgery, aesthetics, dermatology, or surgical specialties
• Prior medical scribing experience
• Interest or experience in social media, content creation, or patient education
