Job summary

Wave Plastic Surgery, partnered with CPP Clinics, seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-growing aesthetic clinic in Arcadia, CA.

The role combines clinical and administrative tasks, requires bilingual English and Mandarin, and experience building client relationships. Onsite, full-time, with standard hours.

Candidates should be comfortable with EMR, HIPAA compliance, and patient care excellence; prior medical spa or dermatology exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.
• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining a client base.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills.
• Experience in medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering aesthetic and medical procedures.
• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Document vitals, medical history, medications, and allergies in EMR.
• Explain treatment processes and provide patient reassurance under supervision.

• Document all clinical interactions in EMR per policies and HIPAA.

CPP Clinics is a leading provider of medical aesthetics services, offering innovative treatments across multiple medspas under the CPP umbrella. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient experiences and outstanding results, utilizing advanced technologies and personalized care.

Wave Plastic Surgery, one of our valued partners, is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their fast-growing, state-of-the-art clinic located in Arcadia, California.

The ideal candidate will support our providers by performing clinical and administrative tasks while delivering exceptional patient experience. If you are passionate about aesthetics, patient care, and contributing to a dynamic team, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

• Assist providers in the delivery of aesthetic and medical procedures;
• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to each patient encounter, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and compliance with infection control and safety standards;
• Escort patients to examination or treatment rooms, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, and other relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR);
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain treatment processes, and provide reassurance and support under the direction of a licensed provider;
• Assist during aesthetic or medical procedures by preparing materials, handing instruments, and following provider instructions precisely;
• Provide post-treatment instructions as directed by the supervising provider and monitor patient comfort, promptly reporting any adverse reactions or concerns;
• Accurately document all clinical interactions and patient data in the EMR in accordance with practice policies and applicable regulations;
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard protected health information in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy laws;
• Ensure informed consent forms, treatment logs, and other required documentation are properly completed and stored;
• Maintain treatment areas, instruments, and equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition, and assist with inventory management and supply ordering as needed;
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical waste and sharps in accordance with OSHA and state regulatory requirements;
• Support workflow efficiency by coordinating with front office and clinical staff to optimize patient flow and scheduling;
• Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as clinic policies, procedures, and compliance programs, including OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety standards;
• Report any incidents, safety concerns, or compliance issues to the appropriate supervisor or compliance officer;
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education to maintain professional competence and enhance skills relevant to aesthetic and medical assisting;
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with the image and standards of the practice;
• Demonstrate courteous, empathetic, and professional communication with patients, providers, and staff;
• Represent the practice with integrity, discretion, and commitment to patient care excellence;

Qualifications:

• Medical Assistant Certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin.
• 3+ years of experience with a proven track record of building and maintaining a client base.
• Exceptional communication skills with strong follow-through.
• Previous experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery setting is highly desirable.
• Expertise in conducting consultations, cross-promoting services, and skincare products, with the ability to close sales effectively.
• Proficient in using EHR software for healthcare systems.
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service, with a strong focus on patient satisfaction and care.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position. The role is onsite with standard working hours, Tuesday to Saturday from 9am-6pm. We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring business needs are met.

Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from $20 - $25 per hour depending on experience, with additional performance-based incentives and benefits.
