Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Strong phlebotomy and specimen handling experience.
• BLS or CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• One or more years outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Primary care/infectious disease experience preferred.
• EHR proficiency and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient histories, vital signs and chief complaints.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws.
• Label and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
• Administer injections and immunizations as directed and within scope.
• Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Collect blood, urine and swab specimens.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Document patient information and procedures in the EHR.
• Process lab requisitions, track results and alert providers to abnormal findings.
• Clean, stock and prepare exam rooms.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT PHLEBOTOMIST

Location: Titusville, FL

Pay: $16–$17 per hour

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Setting: Outpatient | Adult Patients

Specialties: Primary Care, Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease

Position Overview

Seeking a Medical Assistant with strong phlebotomy skills to support providers and adult patients in a fast‑paced outpatient clinic. This position combines hands‑on patient care with administrative support, including patient intake, blood draws, specimen preparation, clinical documentation and care coordination.

What You’ll Do

• Obtain patient histories, vital signs and chief complaints
• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws
• Label and prepare specimens for laboratory processing
• Administer injections and immunizations as directed and within scope
• Perform EKGs and point‑of‑care testing
• Collect blood, urine and swab specimens
• Assist providers during exams and procedures
• Document patient information and procedures in the EHR
• Process lab requisitions, track results and alert providers to abnormal findings
• Clean, stock and prepare exam rooms
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection‑control and specimen‑handling standards

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Strong phlebotomy and specimen‑handling experience
• BLS or CPR certification, or the ability to obtain it
• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• One or more years of outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Primary care, internal medicine or infectious disease experience preferred
• EHR proficiency and basic computer skills
• A reliable, detail‑oriented and patient‑focused approach

Compensation & Benefits

• $16–$17 per hour
• Medical, dental and vision insurance after six months
