Sentara Orthopedic Trauma Specialists in Suffolk, VA is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care and handling administrative tasks under supervision of the physician team. This is a full-time, first-shift role located in the Norfolk area with standard days.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, complete a Medical Assistant program (preferred), and obtain BLS within 90 days of hire.

The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)
Certification/Licensure
Experience
One year of clinical/administrative experience (Required)
Phlebotomy experience (Preferred)
