CHI Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support the care team through direct patient care, clinical assistance, and coordinated administrative tasks. You will engage in comprehensive screenings, assist with procedures, provide health education, and leverage technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, technical fluency, compassion, and a collaborative, learning-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • AHA BLS within 30 days.
  • CMA credential required if hired as CMA; non-certified must become certified after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problems.
  • May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
  • May perform routine tests including EKGs.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination. Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.
