Mercy in Hillsboro, MO is seeking a Primary Care Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering safe, patient-centered care. The role includes rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and coordinating care within Epic, with responsibilities for preventive services and in-office testing.

Options for different credentials exist (MA, CMA/RMA/CCMA, LPN) and BLS must be obtained within 90 days. A 40-hour workweek with day shifts is offered with competitive compensation and strong

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Diploma in Practical Nursing is preferred for LPN tracks.
• Active LPN licensure is preferred for LPN track.
• Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) required or pursued.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patient for visit by completing rooming process and entering chief complaint.
• Take vital signs, review history and allergies.
• Perform thorough medication reconciliation.
• Close care gaps via Encounter Guide (screenings, fall risk, depression, etc).
• Recheck elevated blood pressures as needed.
• Document in Epic for yearly preventive visits.
• Assist with in-office testing (draw blood, EKGs, etc).
• Administer vaccines within scope of practice.
• Schedule follow-up appointments per policy.
• Collaborate with providers to coordinate the care plan.

Educación

High School Diploma or GED

Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Overview:

• Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including:
• Entering the chief complaint
• Taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies
• Completing a thorough medication reconciliation
• Working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exam
• Rechecking elevated blood pressures
• Completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
• Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG's, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

LPN Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Licensure: Active LPN licensure
• Preferred Experience: 6 months clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office
