As a Clinical Care Assistant I , you'll work closely with physicians and nurses to deliver safe, high-quality care. This entry-level medical assisting role offers valuable on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement upon certification.
Schedule :
- Monday through Friday, between 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM (rotating start times, 8-hour shifts )
- Required to work two Saturdays per month ( 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM )
- For weeks that include Saturday work, one weekday will be substituted to maintain a 40-hour workweek
Key Responsibilities :
- Interview patients, record vital signs, and update electronic medical records
- Assist in managing patient flow and daily clinic operations
- Provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision
- Collect and process lab specimens and conduct lab tests (upon skill sign-off)
- Administer medications and vaccines (IM / SC / ID / oral) and perform EKGs
- Assist with procedures and treatments under physician supervision
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
- Inspect medical equipment and supplies for safety, function, and expiration
- Perform quality control checks (e.g., glucometer, autoclave, refrigerator temp)
- Maintain cleaning logs and procedure records as required
- Comply with infection control, OSHA, and biomedical waste protocols
- Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate data entry
- Collaborate across departments to ensure continuity of care
- Follow up on missing results prior to patient appointments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications (Must-Have) :
- High school diploma, GED, or graduation from a technical school
- Completion of a certified Medical Assistant training program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, Patient Technician, or Home Health Aide
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) :
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical records systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
