Job summary

Baptist Health Paducah is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care in an outpatient setting, supporting clinicians and coordinating care. The role includes vitals, histories, and EMR documentation, with growth opportunities and a strong emphasis on teamwork.

The candidate will perform clinical procedures as qualified (EKGs, phlebotomy, injections) and participate in maintaining patient flow while adhering to Baptist's mission and standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic.
• High School Diploma or GED or MA program graduate.
• Certification in BLS within 90 days.
• BAT/DOT certification within 90 days.
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.
• Willingness to undergo clinical competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients, obtain vital signs, and reconcile medications.
• Document patient history and medications in the EMR.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; schedule appointments.
• Assist with EKGs, phlebotomy, injections when trained.
• Communicate with pharmacies, insurers, patients, and physicians.
