Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience with direct patient care in a clinical setting.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR licensed LPN/RN with current licensure.
• Clinical competency assessment upon hire and MA orientation completed.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and document patient history.
• Support clinical operations and patient flow in outpatient OB/GYN clinic.
• Manage EPIC EMR and appointment scheduling.
• Process medication requests and prior authorizations.
• Coordinate tests and procedures; perform EKGs, labs, injections or phlebotomy as assigned.
• Maintain basic computer skills and assist providers with care.

Upon successful completion of clinical competency, the role may also require performing EKGs, lab tests, injections, and/or phlebotomy.Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to ensure efficient patient care and support for providers. This role requires regular on-site presence to perform the essential job functions.**Qualifications:*** High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency* 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic or similar setting required. Experience must include direct, hands-on patient care in a clinical setting, such as obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g. EKG’s, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines).* **Or** Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required.* Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation. Those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program for further development and evaluation.* Basic computer skills, experience with EMR System a plus.* Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.* BAT and DOT certifications required for Medical Assistants in Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire.Preferred Qualifications for a Certified Medical Assistant:* Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP.* **Or** graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure.* Upon hire, all Medical Assistants will undergo a clinical competency assessment and must successfully complete MA orientation.
