Job description

Where Precision Supports Every Stage of Life

At My Psychiatrist, mental healthcare works because the system behind it works.
From children to adolescents, adults to older adults—every patient deserves care that is prepared, coordinated, and delivered with intention.

Our Medical Assistants are not task-driven.
They are clinical partners, supporting Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, and Psychiatry Residents across a full spectrum of care—both in-person and through telehealth.

If you take pride in structure, accuracy, and meaningful patient interaction, this role was designed for you.

The Role

Based in our Lake Nona office, you will support providers caring for patients of all ages, ensuring each visit—whether pediatric, adult, or geriatric—is organized, compliant, and ready for clinical decision-making.

This is a fast-paced, high-accountability role requiring strong judgment, attention to detail, and comfort operating across both clinical care and patient experience.

What You’ll Do

Patient Information & Medical History Management

  • Accurately obtain, verify, and update patient medical histories and demographic information for both in-person and telehealth visits.
  • Ensure providers have complete, reliable clinical information prior to patient encounters.

Direct Patient Care & Clinical Support

  • Room in-person patients and obtain vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight).
  • Prepare patients for psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits, including telehealth appointments.
  • Administer injections and medications as ordered by providers, following established protocols.
  • Observe patient responses and promptly communicate clinical concerns to the care team.

Medication & Prescription Support

  • Assist patients with medication-related inquiries across in-person and virtual care.
  • Process prescription refill requests, confirm accuracy, and route for provider approval.
  • Communicate with patients and pharmacies to ensure timely and accurate medication fulfillment.

Care Coordination

  • Serve as a key liaison between patients, providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and internal teams.
  • Support Psychiatry Residents by preparing charts, coordinating workflows, and assisting during clinic sessions.
  • Facilitate continuity of care through clear follow-up communication for telehealth and in-person patients.

Lab & Documentation Management

  • Enter, track, and manage lab orders and results within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Ensure documentation from virtual and in-person encounters is complete, accurate, and timely.

Compliance & Confidentiality

  • Ensure all clinical and administrative processes adhere to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain patient privacy and data security across in-person and telehealth interactions.

Collaborative Support

  • Partner with physicians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, residents, and fellow staff to maintain efficiency and clinical excellence.
  • Contribute to a calm, professional, and patient-centered clinical environment.
