JourneyPure Knoxville is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support clinical operations in a fast-paced behavioral health setting. The role emphasizes patient care, medical support, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position involves assisting with intake, vitals, documentation, procedures, and EMR/EHR management, while upholding HIPAA guidelines and ensuring smooth appointment coordination.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or clinical setting preferred.
• Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and medical terminology.
• Strong organizational and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client intake, vitals, and medical history documentation.
• Support physicians and nursing staff with clinical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and medical equipment.
• Administer medications as directed and within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
• Coordinate lab work and specimen collection as needed.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations.
• Provide excellent patient care and support throughout treatment.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of medical appointments.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.
